Bettina Reiser
Biography
Bettina Reiser grew up in the Bavarian Alps, next to Franz Marc's Birthplace, among rural farms and forests, with King Ludwig's Castles in her backyard. She immigrated from Germany to the US (1983).
Bettina graduated from the University of Northern Colorado (1992) with a degree in Visual Arts, Drawing emphasis.
Her love and connection to nature and the wildlife is reflected in her intricate, detailed, patterned drawings and mixed media pieces. She uses symbolism, lines, and patterns, to tell her stories in an illustrative style of her own.
After a few serious life changes and experiences, Bettina acquired a Certification to teach the Zentangle method (2015) and a Therapeutic Art Life Coaching Certification (2021). She lives on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, in Colorado, with her daughter, and her gentleman partner. She is participating in various local Art Walks, Arts Picnics, as well as several Art Shows in local Galleries/Coffee Houses. She is a member with the Longmont Artist Guild, the Boulder Art Association, the Firehouse Art Center, and participates with the Left Hand Artists Group. Bettina is teaching Workshops, ranging from Drawing, Painting, Zentangle, Fiber Arts, Calligraphy, and more.
Artists Statement
I create Wildlife Art; on occasion Pet Portraits and People Portraits. The lines, detailed patterns, colors, and subjects tell their stories through my creation. For textures, I use patterns and different mediums in my mixed media art. I find the process of the Zentangle inspired patterns I include, soothes my own process of creating a meaningful healing connection with the particular piece.
Mission
My art focuses on the human connection to nature and life.
My aim of my art is to bring conversations of conservation, connections to nature, fond memories of outdoors, a beloved pet or person, and nature's healing powers.
